Belarusian companies participate in Moscow exhibition Prodexpo 2008

Some 15 companies of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs are participating in the 15th international food exhibition Prodexpo 2008 held in Moscow, BelTA learnt from the international cooperation department of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs. A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of Belarus is led by head of the foreign-economic department of the ministry Yakov Pustoshilo. Attending the exhibition are Brestkhlebprom, the Volkovysk Meat-Packing Plant, Savushkin Product, the Bereza Meat-Packing Plant, the Glubokoe Dairy Plant, the Borisov Dairy Plant, the Slonim Meat-Packing Plant, the Soligorsk Poultry Plant, the Borisov Meat-Packing Plant and other Belarusian companies. Moreover, a collective booth will be presented by OOO North-West Russian-Belarusian Trade House where the products of the Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant, the Grodno Meat-Packing Plant and the Borisov Bakery Plant will be displayed. During the forum, participants of the exhibition will have meetings with representatives of trade wholesale companies from various Russian regions, heads of the food resources departments of the Moscow Government and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. Prodexpo 2008 is the biggest food exhibition of Russia and Eastern Europe. Taking part in the exhibition are more than 200 companies from 61 countries worldwide. On February 12-13, the 3rd All-Russia trade forum “Strategic challenges to Russian trade of 21st century” will be held within the framework of the forum. The All-Russia trade forum is a significant event to establish business contacts for supplies of food products and to conclude new contracts. The exhibition Prodexpo 2008 will be running through February 15. In 2007, the export of the products of companies of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs to the Russian Federation totaled $1 billion 41,6 million, or 23.4% up as against 2006. Last year, Belarus exported its food products to Moscow at the amount of $382,4 million, or 17.1% up as against 2006.
