Belarus’ tractor production up 40% in January-July

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – In January-July 2011 manufacture of tractors in Belarus reached 36,100 vehicles, up 39.8% on the same period last year, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

An increase in output was also registered among other agricultural vehicles and equipment. Thus, in the period under review there were produced 708 mini tractors 109.3%), 2727 tractor-mounted mowers (106.1%), 1470 tractor trailers (120.1%), 863 fertilizer applicators (143.66%). Production of auto-loaders increased by 26.6% to 1664 units.

At the same time the volume of combine harvester output reduced to 94.2% (1871 units) on the same months in 2010. Production of stationary hoists was lower the output in January-July last year – 62 units (73.8%).

Overall production of machinery and equipment in Belarus in January-July totaled 112.6%, or Br13.339 trillion.

The National Statistics Committee also provided the data on the output of certain types of other machinery and equipment. In January-July the output of elevators increased by 10.1% to 4,833 units, that of centriful pumps edged up by 3.7% to 11,900 units. The production of bearings rose by 13.9% to nearly 3 million units.

Production of metal-cutting tools in Belarus increased by 21.5% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2,567 units. At the same time the manufacture of woodworking machines was down and accounted for 37.5% of the output in the same period last year.

For seven months from January to July Belarus produced 176,000 washing machines (up 9%), 707,400 household refrigerators and freezers (up 13.1%). The production of microwave ovens fell down by 3.1% to 178,500.
