Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia sign agreements on technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary control

St. PETERSBURG, 11 December (BelTA) – The heads of the governments of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation signed a package of the agreements in the area of technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary control, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky told reporters in St. Petersburg on 11 December. “The sides have signed the five agreements which set up the legal base of the single customs area. These documents touch upon technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary control and sanitary standards,” Sergei Sidorsky said. According to the Belarusian Premier, the signed documents will promote the free movement of goods within the framework of the Customs Union. Starting 1 January 2010, all the necessary regulations, technical, sanitary and phytosanitary, will be adjusted in line with the signed agreements. We will remove all the barriers which may hinder the free movement of goods in the single customs area, Sergei Sidorsky added.
