Belarus’ foreign trade up 53.9% in January-September

In January-September, Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services swelled by 53.9% in comparison with the same period of last year as against the annual forecast of 14.5-15.5%, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA. Over the nine months of 2008, Belarus’ export went up by 53.9% (annual forecast – 16-17%), import grew 54% (12.5-13.5%). In January-September 2008, Belarus posted a deficit in foreign trade at the amount of $2474.3 million. In 2008, the foreign trade deficit is projected at the level of $1400-1420 million.
