Belarus, Austria to intensify trade and economic cooperation

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Austria discussed a possibility of further intensification of trade and economic cooperation. The topic was discussed during the political consultations between the Foreign Ministry of Belarus and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria. The consultations were held in Vienna on 5 October, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Voronetsky, the Austrian one was led by the Political Director (Deputy Minister) of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs Stefan Lehne. The consultations covered a broad range of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation between Belarus and the EU. The parties discussed a possibility of improving the legal framework of bilateral cooperation, implementing joint activities aimed at further intensification of trade and economic cooperation. The parties noted the growing dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue, and an increasing mutual interest in intensifying the relations in credit and investment, educational and humanitarian areas. During the visit to Vienna the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus also met with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Michael Spindelegger.
