President of Tatarstan in Belarus on working visit

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – President of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is in Belarus on a working visit. This will be a brief visit, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry. Rustam Minnikhanov is scheduled to lay flowers at the Victory Monument, and to meet with the Prime Minister of Belarus. The guest is also set to visit the Minsk-Arena sports facility. In January-June 2010 the trade between Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan amounted to $415.4 million, up 9.3% from the same period last year. The export reached $116 million, up 40.8%, import - $299.4 million, up 0.6%. Belarus had a $183.3 million deficit in trade with Tatarstan. In H1 Belarus’ major exports to Tatarstan were tractors, cord material for tires, air pumps, parts and accessories for motor vehicles, petroleum gas and gaseous hydrocarbons, stranded wire, air or vacuum pumps, air or gas compressors and ventilators, electrical equipment for internal combustion engines, engines. Tatarstan supplied Belarus with oil and crude oil products, synthetic rubber, electrical motors and generators, alcohol.
