Kazakhstan set to import Belarusian potato

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is interested in large supplies of Belarusian potato, Belarus Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich told media on 9 September.

According to him, the Belarusian delegation led by Vice Premier Valery Ivanov has returned from Kazakhstan when it took part in the Belarus National Exhibition. Kazakhstan showed a great interest in large food supplies from Belarus. “The demand for our potato is high. Almaty is ready to purchase Belarusian potato at the price which is favorable for us. The demand is also strong for Belarusian dairy products and meat,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

Food export to Kazakhstan is extremely promising for Belarus within the Customs Union. “The Customs Union and the single economic space allow for duty-free and profitable trade. We are proud of our high production standards and maximum efficiency. We can compete not only in the single economic space but also go to Europe. The same goal is set before the Belarusian bakeries,” the PM said.
