Belarusian agribusiness absorbs latest global economy practices

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ agribusiness absorbs the latest practices the global economy has to offer. The industry employs highly qualified professionals, said Vice Premier of Belarus Ivan Bambiza at the opening of the international agribusiness expo Belagro 2010 in Minsk on 8 June. The expo features equipment and technologies of over 400 exhibitors from 19 countries. The forum has gathered top executives and representatives of agricultural authorities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia. The fact indicates that the resolution of food problems is topical for many countries because the well-being of people depends on it and agribusiness serves this purpose, said Ivan Bambiza. In his words, meetings with executives and representatives of the agricultural authorities from other countries at Belagro 2010 will foster the establishment of new business contacts and the signing of new contracts. Belagro is a leading forum for agrarians. It reflects not only changes in the government’s view on major avenues of the Belarusian agribusiness policy but achievements of agricultural workers. Belagro also summarizes the latest international practices used in agricultural mechanical engineering, seeks original innovation solutions regarding environmental friendly materials and waste-free technologies. The event is held at 14 Pobeditelei Avenue and at the demonstration ground of the company Gastellovskoe, Minsk Region. The latter is mainly dedicated to displaying agricultural machines. The expo has gathered professionals from Belarus, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, the USA, Ukraine, France, Czechia, and Sweden. Products made by Big Dutchman International, Inntaler Mischfutter, Amandus Kahl, Otto TH Menke GmbH, Oehler Maschinen Fahrzeugbau GmbH, Lohmann Animal Health GmbH & Co. KG and other manufacturers are represented. Unlike other years this year the French agribusiness elite participates in the forum. French manufacturers offer the full range of products compliant with the most rigorous requirements of the global agribusiness. The collective exposition of France is arranged by ADEPTA, an association of suppliers of genetic materials and equipment, experts, design bureaus for agriculture and food industry. The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry has arranged an exposition of achievements of Belarusian agricultural companies. The latest agricultural science advances are displayed in booths of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus that specialize in agricultural mechanization, animal breeding, vegetable farming, potato growing and gardening. Agricultural universities also take part in the expo. Those are the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University, the Vitebsk State Veterinary Medicine Academy, and the Grodno State Agricultural University.
