Belarus to partake in IPU Assembly in Geneva
The Belarusian parliamentarians will take part in the 119th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva on October 13-15, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Popov said at a session of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament on October 2. The assembly is supposed to elect the IPU Chairman, consider the 2009 draft budget and discuss cooperation issues. The deputies of the House of Representatives of the third convocation will take part in several international events using in order to advance national interests in the international arena. The 119th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will focus on a wide range of issues related to the role of the parliaments, assistance to the processes of nuclear weapon non-proliferation, renewable energy, freedom of speech, etc. Vadim Popov informed that a delegation of the House of Representatives will partake in the 34th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on October 16-17. The Union State draft budget 2009 will top the agenda of the session.БЕЛТА
