Belarus to build 20 transport and logistics centers soon

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – There are plans to construct nearly 20 transport and logistics centers in Belarus in the near future, First Deputy Transport and Communication Minister of Belarus Nikolai Verkhovets said as he met with the delegations of the Transport and Communication Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Transport of Latvia in Minsk on 19 May. In his words, such facilities will be set up in the Brest, Grodno and Minsk oblasts. “Belarus is getting new opportunities in the logistics development within the Customs Union. It is a much bigger market, new investments and additional benefits for the country,” he noted. Nikolai Verkhovets added that there are a wide range of preferences for the investors who partake in the construction of the transport and logistics centers in Belarus. “For instance, a zero duty on the import of the equipment necessary for such facilities is envisaged,” he explained.
