Belarus, Tatarstan to unite research and development projects
KAZAN, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Tatarstan have plans to unite research and development projects, Belarus Premier Sergei Sidorsky told media after his meeting with President Rustam Minnikhanov of Tatarstan on 14 May. “In the near future the most significant research and development projects of Tatarstan and the most important breakthrough projects in the Belarusian economy will be united. Belarus will soon share its technologies with the Khimgrad Technopolis and the IT-Park of Kazan,” Sergei Sidorsky said. In particular, the Belarusian side is planning to construct a trade and logistics center in the Khimgrad Technopolis. On 14 May the Prime Minister of Belarus made a tour of several high-technology companies of Kazan: IT-Park, the Idea Technopark and the Khimgrad Technopolis. A decision to set up the Khimgrad Technopolis was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan in August 2006. The technopolis has been developed to provide assistance to small and medium-sized companies engaged in the chemistry area and polymer processing: from leasing premises to helping advance the ready-made products to the market. Today there are nearly 70 profile companies there with a more than 2,500 staff. In 2009 the Khimgrad companies manufactured RUR3 billion worth of products. These were mainly products from processed polymers, artificial resin and plastic, pipes and sheets made of polymer material, chemical agents, adhesive films, liquid glue, sealing material, paint and coatings, photofilms, corrosion inhibitors, dry pack mortar, medicaments, pharmaceuticals, medical instruments, polymers.БЕЛТА
