Belarus, Kazakhstan to implement 30 joint projects

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan are planning to implement 30 joint projects to the tune of about $20 billon, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Anatoly Smirnov told a press conference dedicated to the priorities of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the OSCE. The Ambassador said that Belarus takes part in almost half of the projects to promote the industrial development of Kazakhstan. It means that the bilateral trade will increase in the forthcoming years. The trade turnover is likely to rise up to some $3 million in 2 or 3 years, according to Anatoly Smirnov. The Kazakhstani Ambassador said that the Belarusian-Kazakh interaction was high on the agenda of the summit and during the visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky to Kazakhstan. The heads of the Kazakhstan oblasts spoke in favor of cooperation with Belarus. “The Customs Union provides a wide field for activities such as joint ventures, manufactures, cargo and raw materials transportation,” Anatoly Smirnov says. The jointly produced goods will be promoted to Asian markets. The Kazakh Ambassador believes that the mutual economic cooperation with Belarus will skyrocket soon.
