Belarus invites Qatari business to investment cooperation

MINSK, April 13 (BelTA) – Belarus invites Qatari business to cooperate in various areas, including investments, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he met with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifah al-Thani on April 13. Alexander Lukashenko was satisfied with the fact that good prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Qatar had emerged. “We can offer several ways you can use to invest in Belarus. We would like concrete businessmen to examine the situation after your visit. If it is profitable for you, come to Belarus. We will create good terms for the operation of your companies in Belarus,” stressed the President. He reminded that the favourable geographical location of Belarus is one of the advantages it offers. Greeting the Emir of Qatar, Alexander Lukashenko remarked that he rarely happens to welcome heads of Arab countries in Belarus. With satisfaction, he recalled his visit to Qatar in February 2001 when he had an opportunity to get familiar with the economy and potential of the country in detail. In turn, the Emir of Qatar underscored that his country is interested in promoting the bilateral relations in information technologies. Qatar is also interested in cooperation in sports.
