Belarus’ GDP up 6.6% in January-June

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – In January-June 2010 Belarus’ GDP increased by 6.6% over the same period last year to Br69.542 trillion in comparable prices, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee. In line with the social and economic development forecast, GDP is projected to increase by 11-13% in 2010. In January-June, the production of industrial goods was up 8.6% (the year’s forecast stands at 10-12%) over the same period a year before to Br72.609 trillion. The manufacture of consumer goods totaled Br16.347 trillion (or up 11.2%), the production of foodstuffs Br8.872 trillion (up 10.9%), that of nonfoods Br6.516 trillion (up 11.9%). The 2010 forecast for consumer goods stands at 14-15%.
