Belarus’ GDP up 6.1% in January-August

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2010 Belarus Gross Domestic Product (GDP) went up by 6.1% in comparable prices over the same months of the previous year and reached Br98.9 trillion in the current prices, the National Statistics Committee told BelTA. In line with the social and economic development forecast, GDP is projected to increase by 11-13% in 2010. In January-August, the production of industrial goods totaled 28.7%, agriculture – 6.9%, construction – 10%, transport and communications – 9.3%, trade and catering – 11%. GDP energy intensity reduced by 3.3% (with the annual projections at 8-10%).
