Alexander Lukashenko: Spring sowing campaign should be completed by 9 May

PINSK REGION, 14 April (BelTA) – The spring sowing campaign should be completed by 9 May, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said during his working visit to Brest Oblast on 13 April, BelTA has learnt. The President noted that at present it is necessary to intensify the sowing campaign. Actually, the Belarusian agricultural industry has gotten over a crisis and it is starting to recover, he said. The Head of State was also heard out a report about the corn breeding in Brest Oblast. According to the President, this agricultural activity is too promising. Alexander Lukashenko has set the task to start exporting Belarusian corn in the future. Speaking about the plans for the future five-year period, Alexander Lukashenko noted that all the priority goals for the agricultural industry for that period have been already discussed in details. "In the next five-year period we should complete all the projects of the land-reclamation programme," said the President. After taking a helicopter flight over the crop fields of Brest Region, Alexander Lukashenko criticized the management of some agricultural companies of Brest Region for their failure to gather straw from the fields.
