Agreement on CIS free trade zone may be signed by end of 2010
MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – The agreement on the CIS free trade zone may be signed by the end of 2010, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev told reporters in Minsk on 17 August, BelTA has learnt. Sergei Lebedev reported that on 16 September the Russian capital will host a session of the economy ministers of the CIS member states. The ministers are set to discuss the preparation of the agreement. “We hope that the draft of that important document will be ready by the end of the year,” he noted. Speaking about the agenda of a session of the CIS Heads of Government on 19 November in St. Petersburg, Sergei Lebedev noted that the CIS innovation cooperation program for the period until 2010 is one of the most important documents which are being prepared to be approved. The preliminary discussion of the draft will be held at a session of the CIS Economic Council on 17 September.БЕЛТА
